About Us
Hood's Grove Church's WMU (Women's Missionary Union) is a very important part of our church.  It is at least 75 years old, has been serving in many ways over the years, and continues to serve where there are needs.  This is another way we strive to spread God's word in today's world.
Our main mission project is to support the Annie Armstrong Week of Prayer for needs within our own country and the Lottie Moon Week of Prayer for needs through the entire world. To help provide funds for these two missions, we raise money with a Soup and Sandwich Day.  We also participate in the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox Project, providing Christmas gifts for children in foreign lands.  We have contributed toward a well being dug in a country in Africa where water supplies are sparse.  Other projects we take part in are adopting a local family at Christmas, serving meals for families in times of death, making cakes to help feed our local law enforcement at a special tribute meal, and feeding the staff of our local school as a "thank-you" for all their endeavors to educate our children.  We also take part in the Back-Pack-Buddies to provide food for needy children at home on the weekends.  Another important mission is helping support our own Vacation Bible School.  One mission we participate in is the Red Box Ministry, providing small Christmas gifts to women in prison.  All of these projects are done in the hopes that the lives we touch will see God's love is for all.
To help support our missions, we sell Danny Duzits, flavoring, cards, and cookbooks.  We come together for our meetings every month for fellowship, devotions, and to seek ways to further spread God's work.  All women of our church are considered a member of the WMU.  Meetings are held on the fourth Monday nights at 7:00 pm.
